CANCELLATION OF THE EASTER TRIP TO VERN D’ANJOU
The Tatsfield Vern d’Anjou Twinning Association has been doing an annual exchange every Easter for 44 years.
This year the French were planning a special event for our 45th year. It is an exchange of friendship and cultures which has developed into long lasting relationships between individuals as well as within the Association.
We had an emergency committee meeting at the same time as our French counterparts to discuss what we should do about this year’s visit in light of the Coronavirus. We came to a joint decision that the most sensible thing to do was to cancel the trip for this Easter, with the intention that we will re-plan once life is in a calmer and more certain place about not spreading Coronavirus. As it is a non-essential trip we did not want to be exchanging more than our friendship!
We are really sorry because so much planning goes into the event but hopefully it can be rescheduled without too much hard work for the Vern committee.
In Tatsfield everybody is a member of the Tatsfield Vern d’Anjou society so if people want to know more please feel free to get in contact with any of the committee members and we will let everyone know when we are re-planning.

Welcome
Welcome to the Tatsfield-Vern Association website.
We hope you enjoy looking at some of the history and events that have made our relationship with our French twin town so special.
All residents in Tatsfield are automatically members of the Tatsfield-Vern d'Anjou Association - why not get involved and either host a French family or come with us on a visit to the beautiful Loire Valley?
Population wise, Vern d’Anjou is a similar sized village to Tatsfield (albeit growing more rapidly) and it also possesses a great community spirit and a hard working local council. However the similarity ends there. Vern is a little more geographically isolated than Tatsfield and added to the French preference to shop locally makes the make-up of the two villages very different. Vern feels much larger but is more compact and less ‘rambling’ than Tatsfield.

Hosting Vern d'Anjou Easter 2019
On Friday 19th April 22 members of the Vern d'Anjou community arrived in Tatsfield. They all stayed with Tatsfield families and were able to spend a lovely weekend visiting Hampton Court and Eagle Heights. We all had a meal in The Old Ship on the Saturday evening, then on the Sunday evening we took them to The Barley Mow in Tandridge where we had a meal followed by live music and dancing. A good time was had by all.
